Submitted by: Eureka Springs City Advertising and Promotion Commission(EUREKA SPRINGS, AR) – A delectable Valentine's Day Weekend extravaganza for the chocoholic in all of us will benefit local and regional charities and non-profit organizations. The eclectic getaway town of Eureka Springs hosts the Sixth Annual Chocolate Lovers Festival at the Inn of the Ozarks Convention Center Feb. 13, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 pm.
Vacation Rentals will present the festival this year, with proceeds going to the Carroll County’s Habitat for Humanity, the Academy of Excellence, Galena High School Family and Consumer Science Department, Exeter High School FFA, and Little Flower Mission Clinic
“Pretty much all things chocolate are fair game for this celebration,” according to event organizer Pam Hinson.” More than a dozen vendors will provide fountains overflowing with all varieties of sumptuous chocolate as well as chocolate candies, ice cream, and drinks. She added, “The chocolate body care products may surprise first-time festival goers!”
There will also be a contest for baked chocolate creations on Feb. 12, with professional, amateur, and youth divisions. The 1st and 2nd place winner in each division will be entered in a silent auction Feb. 13.
The fact that the chocolate festival is held each year on or near Valentine’s Day is no accident according to Hinson. “Chocolate is traditionally at or near the top of the list of things lovers give to each other. And, if you’re not in love at the moment, there’s no better substitute for love than chocolate!”
Admission is $10 for adults, and $ 6 for children under 6 years of age. For further information about the chocolate festival and the contest, call 888-465-4753, go online at http://www.eurekachocfest.com/ or e-mail info@eurekachocfest.com.
